BERLIN – The 73rd Berlinale, Europe’s first major film festival of the year, will kick off next month with new films from around the world set to screen. big

Eighteen pictures will compete for the Golden and Silver Bear awards at the 11-day event starting February 16, with the jury chaired by American actress Kristen Stewart.

Fifteen of the features in the main show are world premieres and one is a premiere.

Six of the films in competition are by women and three of the directors identify as non-binary.

The special Berlinale section features other popular films that will have a gala screening.
